- describing actions happing now (present continuous): estar + gerundio
- plans for the future: ir a + infinitive
- expressing probability, doubt
- introducing the first past tense: pretérito perfecto, haber + past participle
- introducing past tenses: pretérito indefinido, simple past
- Textbooks as for Elementary 1, Units 8-10
Upper Elementary 2 (15 hrs, 10 weeks)
- talk about past events: pretérito indefinido used with pretérito imperfecto
- travel vocabulary
- describing one's travels and what happened
- describing states of mind
- ask/give information about transport/weather
- my, your, his, her, our, their / this, that, these, those
- Textbooks as for Elementary 1, Units 11-12
Upper Elementary 3 (15 hrs, 10 weeks)
- more about past events: combining the first 3 past tenses
- health and physical states
- expressing obligation, possibility, prohibition
- narrate a story, describe a person’s life
- Textbooks as for Elementary 1, Units 13-15
