Acabo de cumplir casi 20 semanas de clases de castellano en El Patio. Escribo con el punto de vista de una persona madura que había estudiado español formalmente en la universidad ¡en otro siglo!
Cuando empecé en El Patio sufrí de una falta de práctica y tuve una falta de confianza. Pués me gustaría escríbirte acerca de mi experencia a El Patio - me alegro de recomendarla.
El precio de los cursos es competitivo, y hay descuentos para los que se matriculan temprano - el folleto de información, y la página del web incluye los precios y fechas importantes. El sitio lo encuentro muy conveniente - vivo en un barrio del norte. Se puede llegar en el tranvía, en el tren o en coche - y hay cafés y restaurantes donde se puede comprar una copa, una merienda o una comida antes, o después, de la clase.
La pedagogía sigue el método del CELTA de enseñanza de inglés a extranjeros e inmigrantes, y los niveles reflejan el sistema de la EU. El más alto es del DELE.
Hay aulas llenas de color con mapas, pinturas, dibujos y carteles que representan el mundo hispano-hablante. Se pone a las aula los nombres de artistas famosos de españa y países de América Latina. ¡E incluso una botella de agua y vasos en la mesa para evitar la boca seca!
Se vende los textos que se utíliza en las clases, y esos libros tratan de temas interesantes y situaciones bastante auténticas. También hay cintas para practicar las audiciones, y los actores hablan con la rápidez natural.
El personal ayuda mucho a los estudiantes y les contestan sus preguntas acerca de la administración. He tenido la misma profesora durante mis 20 semanas allá. Es una madrileña bien preparada con un buen sentido del humor. Ha creado una buena atmósfera en la clase y introduce información no sólo del idioma sino también de la historia, la geografía y las culturas del mundo hispano-hablante. Explica claramente los aspectos de la gramática.
Se puede hacer deberes cada semana, y si estás ausente, la profesora te los mandará por correo electrónico.
Finalmente, hay actividades de vez en cuando, ¡incluyo bingo, excursiones o bailes!
¡Soy estudiante feliz en esta escuela - qué te diviertas allí también!

Letter to a prospective student:
I've just finished nearly 20 weeks of Spanish classes with El Patio. I write from the point of view of a mature person who studied Spanish (in another century!) at University.
When I started at El Patio I lacked practice and confidence. I'd like to write about my experience at El Patio which I am happy to recommend to you! The location of the school is very convenient - you can easily travel to the school by public transport or car. There are also cafés and restaurants nearby to buy a glass of wine or a snack before or after class.
The teaching method follows CELTA and the levels are like those of the EU, the highest being DELE.
The classrooms are dedicated to famous artists from the Spanish-speaking world, and are decorated with maps, paintings and posters. There's even water provided to help with a dry mouth!
The texts needed are stocked at El Patio and cover themes that are interesting and quite authentic.
The office staff are quick to answer questions and help students. I have had the same teacher during my time at the school; she's from Madrid, is well-qualified and with a good sense of humour! She has created a great atmosphere in the class and teaches not only the language but also about the history, geography and cultures of the hispanic world. She explains aspects of the grammar very clearly.
There is homework every week, and if you are absent El Patio sends you an email covering that week's class.
Finally, there are events such as bingo, excursions or dances!
I'm a happy student at this school - I hope that you will be as happy at El Patio too!
